Perfect Bliss

At last I found my perfect bliss. My heart was calm and I have started to move on in life. She came back this morning from her overseas trip and immediately left for work. I had a good day at work, finished off my stuff at the office. It was almost 4pm when S SMS me to fetch her. Oh, I have almost forgotten about it. I was having coffee break and when I finished my coffee I made my way to her school. It was not a long drive but due on construction on certain parts of the road – traffic flow was slow. On the way, she seemed impatient and kept SMS me although I told her I was already on the way. I picked her up just after 4.30pm and we made our way home – just a five minute drive. In the car, she was as chatty as ever, telling me about her day at school and how tired she was. When we reached home and I opened the door, the little one came running out to greet me: “pa pa pa pa”. I picked her up and gave her a kiss and she kissed me as well. F was also around, as usual lying on the sofa and staring at the TV. I changed and headed for the study room, switch on the air-con to cool me down and switched on the computer. I just browsed around, check my email for a while. Then I heard her voice. It was probably 5.30 pm and she was already home. What a surprise! But I did not hear much of her voice. When I came out of the study room she was no where to be seen. I asked the S and she told me that mummy was sleeping. S wanted to cycle and so I decided to bring them to the park. However, F did not want to go as she was doing her homework. I loaded S’s bicycle onto the car and brought the little on along too. It must have been ages since I bring her outdoor as the last time we brought her out she got some nasty insite bites that took a while to heal. When we reached the park, she was happy beyond words. Her face showed it all as she climbed up the slide and ran down the slide. It was a joy just to watch her play. I regretted that I did not bring her out more often and I should have brought the video camera to capture those wonderful moments. S was cycling round the park. She is a born cyclist. Without any effort at all she was able to pick up cycling. Watching the two kids enjoying themselves, a smile broke on my face. I have forgetten about her. Her existence do not matter to me. As long as the children are around, I will be happy and that is enough. Then I brought them home for dinner. She was still sleeping and refused to get up for dinner. The children and I sat at the dinner table to have our dinner while the maid fed the little one. Such perfect bliss of a day! And during dinner time, F remarked that she had learned to cook a new disk during home economics and wanted to cook it for me tomorrow. And she listed out all the ingredients and asked if we can go to NTUC to buy the ingredients. I asked her to also check with the maid if there was anything else needed. Dinner was over and she was still sleeping. I took the three kids out to NTUC and we had a fun time buying all the necessities. The little one was cheerful and playful but did not make too much of a noise as I put her in the trolley. And we went home. It was really an ordinary day but it I was so happy as it was simply pure bliss for me – to be able to spend time with my children. At last I found my perfect bliss.
